Sunday lunch is a sacred staple of the Great British menu and is a special meal to be enjoyed by family and friends. So when bar and bistro TraTra London launched their decadent Sunday feast with bottomless fizz we jumped at the chance to try it out.
The flamboyant French feasting menu created by award-winning chef and writer Stéphane Reynaud offers guests a taste of fine french cuisine and warm hospitality in the middle of Shoreditch. Located within Redchurch Street’s landmark The Boundary Project, the feasting menu includes a generous charcuterie board, as well as indulgent slow cooked sharing dishes, bottomless French fizz and selection of delightful desserts. The melt in the mouth 7 hour slow-cooked lamb shoulder with provencal style sauce and confit garlic was recommended to us and could have easily fed four (not that we were complaining). Many restaurant’s offer ‘feasts’ or ‘sharing’ size dishes, but rarely do they deliver, so we were very impressed by TraTra’s offering.
After devouring the charcuterie board, complete with chutney’s and bread, and the huge main course of lamb, cauliflower cheese and minted potatos, the food coma slowly started to kick in. However, seeing as we were eating for four, dessert was a must. The light and refreshing strawberry vacherin with layers of meringue, fresh cream, strawberry sorbet and fresh strawberries proved the ideal end to our Sunday feasting experience at TraTra.
With topnotch service from start to finish and a live jazz band soundtracking our meal, TraTra serves up the ultimate social dining experience and is perfect for couples, friends or large parties. The menu is small but the portions are plentiful so go hungry and enjoy the feast!
