We all love a trip to Spitalfields. Whether its browsing market stalls, sampling authentic street food, exporing the surrounding Shoreditch or all of the above. And with the introduction of The Kitchens providing new locations for existing London restaurants and a permenant home for graduating street food vendors, there’s even more to explore under one of the most celebrated roofs in East London.
And this isn’t the only area of the historic market that’s undergone a transformation. Teaming up with Gin favourite Bombay Sapphire, The Market Terrace at Wright Brothers has been remodeled into an al fresco dining space, ‘The Bombay Sapphire Terrace’. The new space comes complete with its own cocktail and food pairing menu where boozey combos are perfectly crafted to accompany the fresh ‘sea to plate’ Wright Bros flavours we all know and love.
Opting for the Three baked Carlingford Oysters paired with the ‘Star of the Show’ cocktail was a no brainer. A mixture of Bombay gin, Oloroso sherry and Dom Benedictine musky & bergamot bitters proved a perfect palet cleanser between heavenly fresh Oyster bites. Add to this the Spiced scallops and tempura vegetables paired with the ‘Yuzu Sake G&T’ and we had a very instagrammable spread on our hands.
It’s obvious Wright Bros have bought their A-game to cocktail crafting and we were lucky enough to sample their resurrected ‘Smokey Bombay’ signature from this years London cocktail week. And with another round of small plates including the icey cool Yellowfin Tuna Tataki it seemed more than fitting to order the ‘Winter is Coming’ cocktail, complete with dragon blast icing sugar that covers the glass, offering a sweet balance to the rich Courvoisier VS Cognac.
A fantastic space, The Bombay Sapphire Terrace has the best of both worlds combining all the atmosphere of the historic Spitalfields market and the fresh sea flavours of Wright Bros.
We were kindly hosted by the Wright Bros team however all opinions expressed are our own.
